He said he could smell smoke but not tell what it was and I informed him we had an incense burning. The manager FINALLY came up to the room 20 min later smh and when he did I offered him to come inside and smell or take a look bc we had nothing to hide. The security guy was extremely rude & aggressive and needs to be FIRED. He kept lying to his manager on the phone saying that we were refusing to leave but not telling him what I was saying which was COME BACK WITH YOUR MANAGER. He came back twice WITHOUT the manager, said the manager was unavailable and brought a luggage cart telling us we needed to leave or he was going to call the police! I told him to call them bc I was not leaving without a refund. The security guard seemed to not care about what I was telling him so I told him not to come back to my room without a manager. We literally travel with these incense bc sometimes there are pet or smoke smells at some of these hotels. We are not tattle tells so we did not care to call downstairs to make it an issue, it was easier to light the incense. He literally woke me and my daughter up and was at the door telling my husband that we were smoking and that he could smell it and that we needed to leave the property and would be charged a $500 fine! I immediately told him that we were not smoking and that we smell smoke too and my husband had an incense burning to block the smoke smell from getting to my daughter. We didn’t even complain! The real issue came when we were woken up at 8:30am by security BANGING on the door like the Swat team. The kitchen could’ve been cleaner & the sheets on the bed were not the correct size, there was a mattress cover but no fitted sheet. No seats for the balcony or any privacy on the balcony. Very unprofessional when you’re at work! Secondly upon checking in the room, there were stains on the curtains, couch and a cigarette burn hole on the bar stool. First of all the security for the hotel attempted to hit on me during our first interaction but I kindly turned him down bc I am married. I’ve stayed at Marriott chains all over the country & this location has the worst customer service & staff by FAR. I am a Marriott Platinum Elite member and have been loyal to Marriott for 7 years. The rest of the staff and management are great! So, to wrap it up, Josh is a terrible front desk representative for this hotel and needs to be moved where he has no guest contact. There was more with Josh, but I have made my point. When I returned to the lobby, his excuse was, “.I have had to deal with these baseball people all week.” I was wearing a Braves shirt…. I guess have a good night.” He still didn’t respond…. In an effort to avoid a conflict in front of my son we simply said, “Well then. The entire time he ignored us, even as we were asking him to please slide the money under the plastic. My wife ended up pushing on the plastic barrier until it touched the register so she could slide the dollars out. Keep in mind we were literally standing across the counter from him at the check in desk. He continued to ignore us as if we weren’t there. We couldn’t get hold of it and asked if he could push it forward. When he returned our change he set it down behind the plastic barrier and then ignored us. He ignored us completely, and we were standing directly in front of him at the counter trying to pay for some drinks. We had been very nice and friendly when we originally entered the lobby and even asked Josh several questions about his day. Out of respect for my son, I waited until he was comfortably back in our room before I returned to the lobby to get Josh’s name. We observed his bad attitude on our second night and experienced it ourselves on our last night. He had a terrible attitude and was disrespectful and rude. The only major negative to our trip was the night counter employee, Josh. Our housekeeper was super friendly and traded our towels and washcloths as well as replenished our toilet tissue and in room coffee. The breakfast each day was great! The woman serving was all smiles and kept everything well stocked. Crystal and Marianna at the front desk were absolutely wonderful! Warm smiles and very helpful with any questions. The staff, for the most part, was incredibly nice and very helpful. We just removed it and set it to the side. The only negative was the white thin coverlet looked pretty on top, but was covered in paint smudges or marker of some kind on the underside. We had never stayed here before, but a relative recommended the hotel. We took our 9 year old to his first two Braves games and stayed at this hotel for 4 days.
